School Psychology—EdS
The Educational Specialist in school psychology provides training for a professional career as a certified or licensed school psychologist. Training is based on a philosophy that promotes the balanced development of the mental, 物理, social and spiritual nature of individuals. Typical responsibilities are assessment, 诊断, 咨询, and intervention services to preschool and school-age children with educational, emotional and behavioral problems. This program also provides field, practicum and internship experience.
PROGRAM LENGTH
The EdS is a 65-credit program which can typically be completed by full-time students in three years.
APPLICATION DEADLINES
The EdS in school psychology programs only admit new students for fall semester. Exceptions to this can be discussed with the program’s coordinator.
Prospective students must submit their applications by July 30 for the year they wish to begin.
POINTS OF DISTINCTION
- The EdS degree is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).

- Bachelor's or master’s degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) in psychology, education or a related field from an accredited 机构.

- 20 course credits in psychology at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Three recommendations from professionals such as advisors, major professors and employers.
